Karen Landrum has over fifteen years of actuarial experience in multiple practicing areas and several lines of business. She currently works with a large commercial carrier, focused on large account business. She has generated new business, created new revenue generating initiatives, and managed large revenue clients and projects. Her experience conducting analysis and programming through the use of a variety of computer applications can help take your business to the next level. Her ability to quickly acquire expertise in new systems and procedures, excellent communication skills, and ability to interface with and deliver presentations to all levels of technical expertise will provide you with the knowledge and revenue generation that every company needs.     • Programming: SAS, R, SPSS, C++, VB, FORTRAN and MAPLE, SQL, Python

    • Maintenance of all underwriting pricing models for Large Deductible/SIR plans

    • Rate fillings

    • Constructing raters in Python

    • Developing consistent formats for rate filings

    • Interacting with Departments of Insurance through rate filing objections

    • Enhancements for underwriting pricing models

    • Identifying areas of improvement in rate algorithms

    • Managing policies converting from Legacy systems into cloud-based systems

    • Monitoring for data defects, algorithm errors and actual policy pricing compared to expected policy pricing

    • Working with cross-professional teams to develop products in expansion states

    • Working closely with research teams to develop predictive models in compliance with state regulations

    • Developing rate proposals and regulatory documentation for expansion states

    • Performing competitive analysis and rate algorithm enhancements

    • Creating reports and monitoring results to maintain target profitability

    • Evaluated catastrophe modeling capabilities to bring catastrophe data in-house

    • Performing rate factor analyses

    • Developing insurance products for new and emerging risks (such as private flood, cannabis, etc)

    • Performing regulatory compliance operations

    • Conducting market conduct exams

    • Training external and internal clients

    • Generating new business and new revenue-generating initiatives

    • Conference panels and presentations for topics such as rate development for emerging risks, predictive analytics and regulatory compliance

    • Building predictive models and applied predictive modeling solutions in insurance context

    • Preparing and submitting rate and form filings to the State Electronic Rate and Form Filing (SERFF) systems on behalf of clients

    • Builds ISO-based products, including rates and forms

    • Provides solutions to respond to regulator objections
